The sturdy and also temperature-resistant Racoon WHEEL SHIELD was developed exclusively for rims, is suitable for painted, polished and also powder-coated rims and offers extremely durable advantages throughout the year, even in the next winter! 

The coating compensates even the smallest unevenness of the rim surface and forms an absolutely invisible, smooth and very resistant ceramic protective layer with a long service life. This results in a very stable hydrophobic lotus effect which also significantly reduces new soiling and burn-in of brake dust.

The application of the rim coating is very simple and can be processed without special previous knowledge!  However, intensive cleaning and preparation of the rim surface to be sealed must be ensured in order to achieve an optimal and long-lasting bond! The stability and abrasion resistance of the sealing depends on how well it can bond chemically! For a thorough, residue-free cleaning and preparation we recommend our rim cleaner Racoon WHEEL CLEANER and our Racoon ALCOHOLIC - Degreaser, which is specially adapted to the sealant. These guarantee a clean and reactive surface!

The practical set contains everything you need for the perfect Racoon rim coating: 

• 30ml Racoon WHEEL SHIELD
• 100ml Racoon WHEEL CLEANER
• 100ml Racoon ALCOHOLIC
• 2 nitrile gloves
• 3 applicator cloths
• 1 applicator block and detailed instructions

IF IN CONTACT WITH EYES: Rinse gently with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if possible. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Seek medical attention. If you feel unwell, call a POISON INFORMATION CENTER / doctor!

Racoon WHEEL SHIELD - The ceramic coating especially for rims!

The application of rim coating is very simple! However, you should pay attention to a really intensive cleaning and preparation of the rim surfaces to be sealed!

Never apply a coating outdoors or in direct sunlight, but only in a well-ventilated garage! Do not use on heated or hot surfaces or at temperatures below +10°C!

For your protection we recommend wearing disposable nitrile gloves! Do not inhale vapours! Transport upright and store in a cool place! Keep out of the reach of children!

Preparation 

The most important work, before the rims get their new shine and also the desired protection, is to prepare the surfaces for the coating in the best possible way! This includes a very thorough and residue-free rim cleaning, preferably with the Racoon WHEEL TORNADO.  Please also note the corresponding application instructions for the Racoon Wheel Cleaner!

Then carefully degrease the dry rims to remove any last adherences and product residues. For this we recommend our Racoon ALCOHOLIC - Degreaser, which is specially adapted to the sealant. Spray this either directly onto the surface or onto a microfibre cloth and thoroughly remove the remaining dirt and possible product residues. The surface must be really pore-deep clean, so that it can enter with the new rim coating also a long lasting connection!

Application

Apply Racoon WHEEL SHIELD only on a completely dry, oil- and dust-free surface and not in direct sunlight or on heated surfaces, otherwise the sealant dries too quickly and makes application difficult or impossible. Please use only high quality and suitable applicator cloths and pads for the application, under no circumstances microfibre or cotton cloths!

Apply several drops of the coating onto the applicator cloth and distribute evenly using the foam pad until no or very little material residue is visible. Always work in small areas! The cloths are then saturated relatively quickly and should be turned to a clean side or replaced. After approx. 3 - 4 minutes the seal is flashed off and excess product residues must be removed immediately with a clean microfibre cloth and polished without streaks with light pressure.

Depending on the outside temperature, the sealant hardens after approx. 15 minutes, but should still harden for 6 hours in the dry. The complete hardening takes at least 2 days and the rims should only be washed again afterwards.
